RATHER THAN LOVE, THAN MONEY, THAN FAME, GIVE ME TRUTH
Walden or, Life in the Woods
A film by Donald Cameron
In 1845, Henry David Thoreau retreated from civilized life and went to live alone in the woods. From a
house he built himself by the shore of Walden Pond in Concord, Massachusetts, Thoreau absorbed himself
into nature for two years and two months, withdrawing from all that was not essential for living, to see if
he could learn the purpose of his life, and not, when he came to die, discover that he had not lived.
Over a year in the making, Walden or, Life in the Woods
is a unique feature-length silent film about
a unique experiment, based on the book that inspired a generation.
I'll be adding a blog post with more info shortly, in the meantime enjoy the teaser trailer above.
